Meet Nikki

Mountain Guide & Avalanche Professional

Nikki Champion is a mountain guide, avalanche professional, and all-around mountain enthusiast with a passion for big adventures. With close to 100 summits of Mt. Rainier, seven expeditions to Denali, and countless trips across the Northwest and Mountain West, she’s no stranger to high places. In the winter, she works as an Avalanche Forecaster at the Utah Avalanche Center and is hoping to shift her focus away from guiding as much in the summers to coaching and training mountaineers and athletes to help them conquer their own lofty goals.

With a unique blend of strength and conditioning, personal endurance sports experience, and more than 10 years of guiding and expedition leadership, Nikki hopes to offer a practical, no-nonsense approach to preparing clients for the physical and mental demands of high-altitude expeditions. When she’s not guiding or forecasting, you’ll find her in Salt Lake City, staying busy with mountain biking, trail running, or gardening—and maybe plotting her next big adventure. She holds an engineering degree from Montana State and certifications such as Wilderness First Responder, courses within the ski and alpine track of the AMGA, and American Avalanche Institute Professional Level II to round out her résumé.
